CD TITLE: Just James
ARTIST: J. Moss
REVIEW: J. Moss, to me, has always been a staple in the gospel music genre since I was first introduced to his cd in 2004. Yet, his newest album has taken on a totally different form from his previous ones. Whereas his tracks are normally more amazing soloist renditions, this 10 track album is definitely more of the worship service style. Did I mention there are only 10 tracks? Yeah- a little disappointing, but don’t let that deter you from purchasing this album. I have it on repeat in my car and it serves as constant encouragement and reminder that in spite of my human frailty, God still chooses to love me, and he is therefore worthy of praise. As he says in his song that shares its name with the cd title, Just James, “I keep thinking ’bout where I went wrong/It’s keeping me awake at night, all alone/But then I realize underneath all of us we’re really just the same/I’m just James. Be encouraged. – Sam Brown-Dawson
